If we were required to wear TSO shoes you would be the person to write the requirements 😂😂😂😂😂

No doubt! Super weird how shoes trigger some folks. You can jump seat in your New Balances and jeans at some airlines.

It is amazing what a shoe shiner can do to a pair of shoes. I remember the first time I had someone use a torch.

Yes I'm too lazy to tie my shoes in the morning, especially since nice shoes tend to come untied if you walk the length of the terminal (I'm sure they stay tied long enough to walk from the limo to the penthouse elevator in the lobby). I'm also too lazy to double-knot them, and then to un-double-knot them later.

The Eccos looked just fine with occasional polish.

Maybe they have quality issues these days?

There's a handful of options on Amazon. I tried them one time and they are OK. For comfort, I think it's worth it to buy a shoe with a slightly higher quality of leather, but if minimalist equates to minimum price, I don't think you can beat the prices at Amazon. Reviews are very good as well.
Minimalist is a catch all phrase for a shoe that allows our feet to be feet. It lets your feet handle the tasks modern shoes are advertised to handle but fall short of. For example - arch support. Arches don't need support. Arches are the support. You are unlikely to see a bridge that has arches but also has additional arch support. That said they aren't right for everyone nor was I trying to sell the ideas to others.

I understand they don't share the same looks as high end dress shoe but if they can offer foot health benefits while remaining FOM compliant I don't see the issue. But obviously some do.

How’s the old saying go? “If you want to be paid like a professional then dress and act like one”. I’m sorry but those types of shoes most certainly are NOT professional.

Tell us you drive a Prius and are vegan without telling us. Also, I think the video posted you found offense to wasn't appropriate. A gay dude would never wear those ugly ass shoes.

I drive a pre modern emissions diesel with a manual and enjoy medium rare.

I didn't take offense to the video. But considering the number folks barking about professionalism - it seems it was worthy of the point out.
