I am sure someone did the math on this and that it pays off in the end, plus it keeps everyone in one place to focus on the tasks at hand. I would say it is a good investment long term.

There was a dormitory for FAs years back about where a parking garage is now. This looks a whole lot better.

This is a pretty old article. Skyview 6 is already open and crews are already being booked there for training.

We use about 5 hotels in DFW for just pilots. I know one is exclusively AA pilots. It’s 200 rooms. Say $50/night
50*200*365= $3,650,000/year for one hotel.

Skyview 6 has 600 rooms.
say 600*50*365= that’s $10,950,000 a year.

I think we pay more than $50 bucks a night elsewhere. This doesn’t even bring into account the revenue they’re making off food and beverage. I don’t know any of the financials but it seems like a lot of dough.

Makes sense to me, since they own a huge training center that's not going anywhere.

If you think that is extravagant you should see the Crystal Palace.

You aren’t factoring in overhead though. I’m sure they figured out the financial forecast and determined it was a good idea, though.
