Cal Tells Crews To Sleep On Airplane No Hotel For You
#61
for those bush fans out their can someone explain to my why we went after suddam so much harder than osama? wasn't osama the master mind...
and in regards to the airlines and bush why can't pilot's get released to strike under this administration? 5 years (ASA) should be long enough to reach an impass don't you think.
last question, why is this thread back from the dead?

Some people like to pretend that since Boeing merged with MD, all aircraft are now Boeings. If it was made before the merger, its not a Boeing! They do call the fighters the Boeing F-15 and F-18 though. I've have heard more than one old timer say "I don't work for the Boeing Company. I work for McDonnell Douglas, a wholy owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company."

By the way, where do the pilots sleep on an airplane if not a hotel? That must be a back breaker unless they keep cots stowed. Maybe they should put a stateroom in the back of the plane with a shower and a V-berth just for pilots.

Feelin' that one, brother. I wonder where this country would be without a work force or labor. Geee, lets see here..... Time to put appreciation where it's deserved.

I'm no Bush fan, but the President has very little to do with airline salaries. The fact is that when airlines are losing billions of dollars, they are going to cut wages, benefits, work rules, etc. The other main factor is that many pilots seem to be willing to work for peanuts just to fly for a living.
It is not the government's job to force companies to pay you above your market worth.

I'm curious how you arrived at this conclusion. What data are you relying on to form this opinion? I disagree with Bush on a host of issues but the fact is unemployment is at historic lows, wages have been rising for the last three years, the DOW is up almost 50% from its post 9/11 bottom, taxes are the lowest they've been in decades, government revenue is at all time highs, (although sadly so is spending) and inflation has been largely non existent. (with a few sectors rising ie fuel, college tuition) If you're an air line pilot your situation sucks because of terrorism and oil prices. Not some mythical evil bogyman going after you.
