You may see some more soon- today was the final payday of the year so now all the NetJets pilots have their final numbers.

Out sick/disability for 2.5 months. NQAT (non qual awaiting training) 1 month, 1 month in full 320 IQ course.
Vacation (2 weeks) cashed out as they put me in the sims during my vacation. Because why not.
Rolled thunder (RES effective double pay) for April.
0-1 GS a month (Double time trip) May-August, nothing since September. Was out September-Mid November after a dirtbike crash. One December 1 day GS, but that will pay out next year.

$287,021 Flight Pay (sick pays out as this)
$5,900 Per Diem
$1,900 Profit Sharing/Rewards (they did a goofy 1 time $1250 PS this year)
$46,100 401k contribution
$340,921 total income
$79,526 in income taxes. Holy balls thats more than I made year 1 here (stuck on training pay a while, plus on mil leave for a bit)

464 hours flown
$735/hr effective flight pay, but if you factor in sims, it's probably closer to 600. I don't track sim hours.

Generally gone from home 11-17 days a month between non commutable trips and short call. I do sit long call reserve at home.
Updated the quote to reflect actual End of 2022 pay..

Thank you to those who pointed out we actually get paid on the last day of the month and not the 1st.. I've just been in a 1st/15th bill pay cycle forever and figured the times it was there a couple days early is because my bank just credits "pay on this date" stuff the day it comes in. (most payroll pushes to banks a day or two prior, but with an effective transaction time)

I was wrong and thank you for a couple people for pointing that out.

Thanks for the update. Some food for thought, for sure.

Signed,
An uber senior NB FO trying to decide WB FO vs NB A vs just sit tight and enjoy the ride.

I was senior in the right seat of the ER, but not sub 25%, and was getting coverage awards, 2 weeks of non consecutive Feb/Mar vacation, etc. My wife was just like "if your schedule is gonna suck this bad, just go be a NB captain"

Other than I MIGHT have gotten Christmas off, maybe, my schedule is about the same.

The big "blah" for me is having to cover all 3 airports in NYC, vs 95% JFK (crashpad's there) and 5% EWR (faster to drive from VA than play planes, trains and automobiles with the commute backup time)

I get the argument for sure. I'm currently top 15% in my seat and typically bid with LCA. With the amount of training going on this past year that usually means I can work as much or as little as I want. Had some months where I worked as few as 6 days and some "big" months where I worked more like 15. That's the "sticky wicket" when considering what to bid next or just stay put: balancing the pay with time off. Good problems to have though.

Default 2022 compensation

10 year new 737 CA at UAL. 5 months at approx 25% FO/7 months Reserve CA95-80%
260K pay
40.5 company contribution. A little more than $1k more went to RHA/VEBA. I fully fund my 401k. And do backdoor Roths for me and Mrs D7.
7K per diem
credit 1030
flew 450
averaged working 9 days a month on reserve.

should be a line holder soon and debating stroking it again like I did often as an FO, last year credit was 1200 and flight time was 740.
I made more this year and worked way less.
choices are nice.
