Southwest, as well as many legacy carriers are reducing capacity.
Southwest is still adding capacity, just not as much. Re-read the article you attached.

I hope Delta does well - I have many friends there. But fending off USAIR and a good claim sale does not magically equal "strong company".

Default DAL v SWA

If you want stability and job security AND don't mind that you are doomed to fly guppies for the rest of your carreer, SWA is the place to be. I use them to get to work and the agents, flight attendants and pilots are about the nicest in the industry.

I’d quit the industry if I had to fly the 737 for a whole career.

As someone that grew up in a US/AA household, I'd quit the industry if I had to work for AA as well.
