intersection names.... KMEM
Hey guys,
I'm posting this at the Majors section as I believe the history behind the info i'm looking for might lye with the older generation perhaps.
So there's an arrival into Memphis Intl called the WLDR4 or the LTOWN2... I was told there might be a political agenda behind the names. Something like someone's name was the speaker of a certain conference whereas the name and the conf name are intersection names as well. Googled to no avail.
Anybody knows the story of the intersection names there?.... WLDER, LTOWN (what and where is LTOWN exactly??) and MRCEL.... if you have other intsc names you know the story behind, please feel free to share!
Thanks!

Geez THANKS!
Have any idea what MRCEL and CLARK stands for?...
Also, does MCGHE on ILS36R, is that for Col or General Mcghee? Is the ANG base there called after him?

If anyone's got interesting names and stories behind to share please do!

biography...
So.... I found MRCEL to be John Wilder's late wife. Marcelle. Died at the summer of 2004.
Interesting stuff you find with too much time on your hands...
I'm not sure about Clark, but seems like a political opponent of Wilder's was from Clarksville..... maybe CLARK for that?...

Sen. Wilder is no longer the speaker of the Tennessee Senate. Last year, Sen. Ron Ramsey was voted in over Sen. Wilder after the GOP rose to 17 seats in the Senate. Sen. Wilder was the longest-serving Speaker in all the land (including all state legislatures and the US Congress).

Departing SLC westbound you cross these two intersections:
First CHUBY, then NOPAH
Supposedly they were added by SLC center not too long ago to simply climb vectors. The ATC guy who created them apparently named in reference to his favorite movie character.
Can anyone guess? Read them in order...
