Don’t really care if next year’s PS check is $5 less.

Yup. An attitude that keeps the passengers, crew, and myself comfortable and happy.
I don’t bother trying to test the quality of ground air at each station anymore. It’s inadequate at 90% of them, particularly with any number of passengers on board.

I was just riding in the back yesterday (my own metal) and the cabin was absolutely sweltering during boarding. No airflow at all from the outlets. Multiple pax complained to the FAs. Boarding took a solid half hour, all the while we were all miserable in unacceptable temps. Finally 5 min prior I hear the apu start up. I don't know what the nitwits up front were doing, but it sure wasn't anything with passenger comfort in mind.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm your captain today and... Hey man, don't film me, all right? That's really creepy. Anyhow, welcome aboard... (Insert long-winded description of the route etc)... Hey I said quit filming me.man!!"
Most of the pax couldn't see the CA, but his two exclamations not to film him, got everyone's attention. If you're going to say that to a pax, maybe unkey your mic first? It was so unprofessional, the whole experience, from boarding to that little episode. I felt embarrassed for our airline. It wasn't Servant Leader level, but it was just ick.
(And no, the CA wasn't a new hire. Employee number in the 200K range.)

The icing on the cake, and I'm not making this up, was when the CA came out to do a PA from the front of the cabin, which went exactly like this, and I'm quoting almost exactly verbatim:
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm your captain today and... Hey man, don't film me, all right? That's really creepy. Anyhow, welcome aboard... (Insert long-winded description of the route etc)... Hey I said quit filming me.man!!"

FWIW, AA has a few of these types as well. Fortunately, their timeline is short.
