His 178 days included a bunch of extra days that he worked for extra pay. Every vacation on the 7&7 schedule gets you 21 days in a row off, unless you do back to back vacations which ends up as 35 days in a row. It is a vastly different vacation system than the airlines in good and bad ways.
2021 offered way more money to work extra than ever before and many took it happily. 2022 is offering up some more of the special extra pay temporarily and will also pay out for many higher than a normal year. Under the current contract, the average PIC (every PIC is currently at the top of the pay scales) will make somewhere north of 250K on the 7&7 without working extra days for extra pay. It isn't an airline and has some things that are better than the airlines and probably more things that are worse. This thread is good to see what a variety of jobs actually pay and what kind of things to strive for.

The vacation sounds nice, sounds like something I shoot for at my airline, days off at the ends of my vacation.

However, after reading all that was said it seems this poster in particular padded everything and omitted it until later.

It’s a 2021 salary survey. Those are hard numbers and I didn’t misrepresent anything. That’s what I made in 2021. I apologize if you feel that way.
I, just like everyone else here took advantage of a lot of 2021 premium pay options because of the covid shortage and demand on the aviation system. Do you think it’s normal for a FedEx pilot to make 1mill/year during a normal year? What about the pilots making $140k and fly zero hours? Is that misrepresented as well? We know that’s not normal and only possible because of 2021 options afforded to airlines.
It was a good year for everyone. Every airline seemed to offer an increase in pay incentives. Most of us took advantage of them in some way. In the end, we all made more in 2021.
If we experience a normal year, most Netjets captains will still make over $280k in 2022 and work less than we did in 2021. Most senior FO’s will make over $180K. We will still put about $45-50k in our 401k. That’s still a very respectable income and on par with my buddies at the legacies.

At $363k, I’m pretty happy with that. Nothing much more to reach for. I saw posts of major captains making less and flying about the same.
I get it….you guys don’t see Netjets as a contender. It’s not a major. Loud and clear.

a legacy pilot is getting a 15-16% DC depending on the airline.
lets say a top captain making $350,000 at 15%
is $52,500 plus the IRS limit ($19,500) of what they contribute is $72,000.
heck even a top Spirit captain this year, can put more away in their 401(k) than that range you mentioned.

that’s not how 401k limits work. It’s a combined total of company and you. For 2021:
you can do up to = 19,500
if over 50 you can do = 26,000
company can do up to, if a 16% DC = 46,400 (IRS contributions capped when income hits 290k)
the combined total cannot exceed = 58,000
unless over 50. you can do = 64,500
most places pay anything over the limits as normal income

I was just referring to a pilot contributing the most that they can do. which for this year is $19,500. And yeah I guess if you’re an old fart you can contribute more.
I was just adding the two numbers up.
(company DC + Pilots contributions = total.)
