Need more details?
What’s your hourly rate? What would your wages be if you broke it out as income as one number and 401k as another?
am a commuter.
Was on 55hr LOA leave for a couple of month and didn't really start working till April. I wont make 235K this year because AA paid me a lot to get my 2 COVID shots (@8K each shot) plus I had 10 days off for COVID 2x (probably 5K each removal).
A realistic number is 200K total (wages plus 16% 401K).
2nd year helicopter CFI
Salary - $36,000
401k - $5,200
Flew 656 hours, way too many hours of teaching grounds
2,032 landings
6 days a week
350+ days away from home (my wife and home is in another state)
Landing a helicopter on the edge of a cliff under NVG is a hell of a lot of fun, but this thread has absolutely convinced me of what I've been feeling these past couple of years.. in the longterm, airline pay and QOL wins hands down!
