I have to ask, what do you mean by traditional? As far as quality of training goes, I wouldn’t say it’s quality or training. It’s more like checking the boxes. The training should be illegal and surprised that the Feds haven’t looked at our 100% pass rate. The Fed Examiner is a running joke where he is more interested in cars and Taylor Swift than on systems. In ground school they tell you that training should be fun. They make a big deal about memory items but I haven’t met anyone that was asked about any memory items. Believe me when I tell you that it’s not United’s level of training or even lowly Allegiant…it’s Avelo. We don’t exactly recruit the cream of the crop. I wouldn’t really stress about “training.”
Dafuq, it's tough on both you and your coworkers to be at a job you obviously dislike. I hope you can leave soon and your next job is more to your liking. Being at a startup isn't for everyone. I've seen nothing here which compromises the safety that 121 ops demands. If you have, please talk to someone (immediate management, FAA... or the CEO; you have his email) instead of smearing stuff on this thread. Best of luck to you.

I'm guessing by "traditional" he means non-Advanced Qualification Program. Avelo does not yet have AQP. Not sure about ADP/ADE status, but I know it's something they want to do.

Last time I was at Avenger, was told that training department is working on AQP. But again, I also thought I wouldn’t have to fly to Dallas. I never said safety was an issue but the training is not the best as it could be. It’s just checking boxes rather than training. Most of the guys in the sim have told me the same. It’s something that should change as we grow.

Wow… you seem to have strong feelings about that mob… You should man up and do your civic duty and rat them out! Keep us posted. Or put up or shut up!

For those really at avelo... How would you rate the quality of instruction? Pass rate, training department good/bad?
How long after applying FO you get interview
Is interview video or in person
How long is training from start to finish? Any delays.
