If you do not know the RCR, it doesn't help. Landing after tower closes in HVN is asking for an accident since nobody can give an updated RCR from what I'm told? Correct me if I'm wrong plz. I left before winter ops.

We have enough to worry about with small airports, we don’t need management being cheap about our paychecks or firing people because they don’t agree with them. The culture here is toxic that was created last year. It’s a regional airline at best where excuses and threats are made on a regular basis.

I know management and some management look over these boards trying to figure who is who. Be careful on what you post. We were even told in a meeting that discipline action can be taken for posting information. That’s right, they even threaten people with posting on a public message board.

It’s no way to run a safe airline.
You are correct.

I saw first hand a hard PC bust, not even mentioned in debrief & item not repeated. That person is now a LCP from what I've been told.

Does the company have a policy or guidance of what to do in this case based on reported precip, or can dispatch get one from ops, or hell call them on the radio? It's not the tower going out there to test it, it's the airport ops guys. If there's an active weather event and they have airlines ops don't they have to be out there maintaining the surfaces anyway?

The RCR is needed to calculate if you can land, so you really do need an accurate one. If you put in 5s and it's really 3s or 4s, that can really be the difference. Could the -800 even land there with any significant contamination at all? I remember SWA guys telling me when it snowed at MDW they were screwed with the -800.

When the tower closes air port ops monitors the CTAF and you can ask them esp if it’s actively snowing.

Im sorry, but I’m still confused what a Miami Air accident has to do with Avelo.

It sounds like he was trying to say that the CA from the Miami Air flight is now at Avelo in the training department. Not sure why it couldn't have been done in one post.

I highly believe that is not true nor would Avelo hire that individual.

I’ve heard that Avelo has a pretty lucrative charter business.
