I would say that the experience ingrained with the limited training creates a dangerous culture where safety is not always paramount. I will be honest, the training is way too simple where everyone passes. I have seen guys and gals that should have failed become Check Airman. I have seen busts that should be a failure not even spoken about in the debrief. I personally would never put my family on certain flights with some Captains and FOs.

We have enough to worry about with small airports, we don’t need management being cheap about our paychecks or firing people because they don’t agree with them. The culture here is toxic that was created last year. It’s a regional airline at best where excuses and threats are made on a regular basis.

I know management and some management look over these boards trying to figure who is who. Be careful on what you post. We were even told in a meeting that discipline action can be taken for posting information. That’s right, they even threaten people with posting on a public message board.

It’s no way to run a safe airline.

The RCR is needed to calculate if you can land, so you really do need an accurate one. If you put in 5s and it's really 3s or 4s, that can really be the difference. Could the -800 even land there with any significant contamination at all? I remember SWA guys telling me when it snowed at MDW they were screwed with the -800.
