Well, they are starting to rely on foreign pilots on Visas to keep operating for one, I saw they advertised for street captains on Visas today...and a relatively unknown start up (ask any traveler and I bet you 9/10 have no idea what Avelo is) going into a likely recession + rocketing oil prices isn't a good sign either. Hope they make it, the more jobs the better.

At the end of the day, the Visa program will be useless. Breeze has already more or less given up on it because the hurdles to jump through to get approved we’re enormous.

Anyone there know how far out Avelo's classes are full and set to go?

I was told by a guy I flew with a few days back that Breeze, Avelo, Frontier and Spirit are (or were) all actively pursuing Visa pilots from Australia. Interesting to hear they are starting to wind it back, good news for US pilots.

Regionals I get, but I struggle to believe there aren’t plenty of candidates trying to get an interview for the rest.

The Australian E3 visa is arguably the easiest US work visa to obtain. If the "hurdles" are too big maybe they should look at who is doing it for them.

Lastly, the number of Australian pilots already in USA is less than 200 and I doubt you would get more than another 100 come over. Apparently there are 159,000 ATP holders in the USA at the moment.

300 is 0.18867924528302% of 159000

Not exactly taking anyone's job.

How many of the 159,000 ATP holders are currently flying for a living? How many are in the pipeline to get hired?
