I've been searching different options (ex. rometorio.com) on how to commute to HVN from AUS, SAN, DFW, or even IAH. I've noticed that I may have to save my stipend ($1800) a month for hotels so I would like to know of any routes used by other pilots commuting from TX. I was looking at flying to a base in Florida and then taking an Avelo flight to HVN as well. Any advice would be appreciated. It's looking as thought I may have to just find a CASS flight the previous day of my showtime. Thanks.

Probably the easiest way is to fly to JFK and take the train up

Find a job at someplace other than Avelo? Does Avelo even have reciprocal agreements with anyone else?

I agree but they will be opening bases up elsewhere im sure, so I guess it depends on the individual if they want to be on the front side of the hiring and suck it up and do a rough commute then they will if they want to wait until their base of choice comes along and be down the list then that’s ok too, but doesn’t always mean they will get that’s base so, truly it’s a gamble with any airline

They said pilots commute into BDL and Uber down to New Haven or they just get in on company metal from FL cities. Either way it seems like a pretty rough situation. Commuting is hard enough even when it's only one leg.

How senior is Burbank? Would a new hire be able to hold it? Do most of the pilots train New Haven?
