One definite class of new hire FO's in August. One tentative in September. Possible resumption of regular hiring in early 2025 when more airplanes arrive.

Is QOL there better than Breeze or Sun Country? I’ve been seeing you guys more and more than the former in the wild lately.

I've never worked at Breeze or Sun Country so I can't answer that. I have enjoyed working here, but I am skeptical of the new dual base operations. I like to live close to the airport so I think this may diminish the QOL somewhat, but I will wait to see how I feel about it once it's in practice. I'm still not going to work elsewhere though.

The "home every night" model makes a big difference to many, especially (as anywhere) if you live in-base. But even though I still commute, I also enjoy the "in-base every night" aspect. Even though i'm not at home, I much prefer packing a flight bag for day trips and going back to my own same hotel/crashpad between trips, instead of packing a roller for a 3-4-day trip and bouncing through multiple cities/hotels every night. That wasn't as big a deal when I was young, but I'm an old guy now. I get better hotel sleep that way. And now that we're empty-nesters, sometimes I can bring my wife along with me on a trip, especially if I have a short 1-2 days off between trips, and she gets a mini-vacation while I do my "day job". And it's a drivable commute, so depending on my schedule for that week I can throw my clubs in the trunk, and maybe get 9 holes in after work, or even 18 after an AM turn. And I like the small-airport vibe, in general. At this point in my career, it's the little things for me...

And (at least for now) we have Virtual Base, although it's a very small population and I don't think there have been any new vacancies since inception.

I could never sleep well in a pad, even when there was barely anyone there. Hotels i did much better, you get your own eveyrthing.
