I’m currently working with an ACMI outfit however the long days on the road is taking a toll on the family life so I’m looking for something a little more family friendly. As the family is settled in the PNW after moving here from overseas, I would like to try and commute to see how viable the job is before potential uprooting everyone. So with that in mind;
At Avelo are days off in blocks, or scattered thru the month? Am I able to drop and pick up trips to try and group a block of days off together, making it more commutable.
With regards to an upgrade, would it be better to stay where I am to gain 1000 hrs USA part 121 (currently have 500hr) and apply for Direct Entry Command, or come over now and start gaining seniority. Is there any seat lock if I were to come now which might prevent me from upgrading at the 1000hr mark. Are FOs being upgraded regularly or are the slots being used for DECs?
Min guarantee is 70 hours, what is a monthly average? Just wondering how long it would take to crack it another 500hrs.
Would be nice not to have to worry about jet lag, or waking up wondering where I am.
