Mine's BIGGER
What, size matters?
However irrelevant you feel SkyHigh is, trust me, money isn't everything. Enjoying your family, enjoying going to work, and a few other things rank higher than one's W-2 at the end of the year.
I know pilots who are VERY happy flying for a smaller, lower-paying operation; and I know SEVERAL highly compensated UPS pilots who are miserable.

My instructor in the police academy told me not to waste my money on a Criminal Justice degree . . . . . I did. Now I fly. Never used it, but a degree from a major university, no matter what it is in, demonstrates to a potential employer that you can more than likely survive in a challenging academic environment.
Engineering?? I thought the railroads were cutting back.

On the contrary, BNSF is hiring like a freaking madman. Pretty decent pay for pretty decent work... Especially if you can weld.
Also, when I was pondering a career in Law Enforcement it was pretty much the exact same discussion among LE Officers as we see on this board. "Don't get a degree in CJ, it's too specialized and if something happens and you can't be a cop anymore it's worthless... etc.". Sound familiar? I'm starting to notice that on a lot of things the aviation industry kind of parrallels other specialized industries... It might lean a little on the unstable side ( ) but it pretty much sounds like it ends up pretty similar to anything else (There you go SkyHigh, Let's hear how terrible it really is compared to everything ).
P.S - I would really like to see this thread discuss take home cash of pilots as per the original topic
