Fail to be woke at your own peril.
American Airlines is investigating one of its pilots after social media users urged the company to review his posts and podcasts criticizing Carroll ISD’s proposed diversity and inclusion initiative and its supporters.
G. M., 62, is a Southlake resident who has been a pilot at American for 32 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“We are troubled by the allegations made and have launched an investigation into the matter,” an American Airlines representative said Wednesday in an email.
The airline industry has previously taken action against employees who express their views online. Last summer, Delta Airlinesparted ways with senior flight attendant Kevin Jennings after it was revealed that she had a Twitter account with frequent posts with controversial opinions on race.

AA is just making polite noises.
They can't fire (and make it stick) a union employee over something like this unless he was advocating for the klan.
Worst they can do is establish a social media policy basically banning employees from discussing any public policy or politics in public. Even that would suffer legal challenges.

SWA’s social media policy is extremely repressive and they actually have a full time desk that’s dedicated to monitoring social media. I’m sure AA has a social media policy.
The critical detail is that you can’t be identifiable as a SWA employee on social media in our case. Then they have grounds to fire you.

Everyone at AA knows or has heard of Rule 32. I'm sure it wields more power now than ever before...

Does that mean you just can't identify yourself as an employee (reasonable), or that you're screwed if somebody rolls in four pages later on your feed and identifies you as an employee?

You can’t have anything on your social media that identifies you as a SWA employee. I mean, you can but then you open yourself up for termination if the Kompany or anyone else for that matter gets butthurt about anything you post.

I thought it was that you couldnt speak for the company, say anything bad about the company, or say anything against the company's beliefs as an employee.
