No, I wouldn't solely use this thread to decide on a major to target, but the info is interesting. I get why you may think this thread is in bad taste, but generally speaking, there's a lot to be gained by knowing the salaries of your peers, especially in a year like this one.

So we only look at comparison in good years for certain parts of the industry? Not tone deaf, I said some guys did well and some had rough years. The point of the thread is to see perspective of earnings at certain places and certain airplanes. This information helps those that are coming up in the industry as well as those who are looking to move to other airlines.
To be honest I didnt even do that well compared to many of my coworkers.

All irrelevant.
Unlike past downturns, this one has had the govt bailout labor with direct PSP payments that allowed people to sit home collecting a paycheck even though they’re basically unemployed. The rest of the world? Ask Emirates A380 drivers how they’re doing. Or even Air Canada pilots how they’re doing. So yes, this thread is completely tone deaf. Go show the public how much you made with their own tax dollars that bailed you out.

I like idea of comparing complete contracts instead of just pay rates and I’ll admit it’s a little tone def to talk about how much money we “earned” this past year. So how about we come up with a new number to compare?
We could use the ratio of hours paid to block hours flown. Alaska’s pay checks show hours paid (1000) which doesn’t include vacation, perdiem or any other extraneous stuff. I looked up my block and I flew about 600 hrs. So my ratio is 1.6.
I held a line all year except for one month off and obviously we had allot of deadheads and canceled flights so this number is not very representative of our contract which is probably closer to 1.2 for line holders.
I would also suggest not posting exact hours paid and block hours flown to avoid possibly revealing your identity.
