A buddy of mine that does engineering troubleshooting for cell towers reported that his company is banning travel as well.

A friend’s husband runs a tour company—upcoming tours are cancelled.

This stuff is going to hurt.
Wife's company (80k in tech industry) is "auto-canceling" all flights starting Wednesday if the employees haven't canceled them.

I agree; this has a cascading effect all the way up and down the economy.

Hey, at least gas is cheap!!

Found an article that they discussed possible recession indicators to watch for, but nothing that stated BoA claims we are in a recession.

Talking points on CNBC do not declare a recession. There are many factors that contribute to an actual recession. GDP and unemployment are a few. It takes a couple months to declare and 1 month of global travel reduction due to a virus is not enough.

There isn't, at least not from rational people living their daily lives. Media hyped, profit-driven click bait causing mass cancellations of public gatherings out of an "Abundance of caution". Give me a break. Real reason? Fear of a predatory, opportunistic legal system. Heaven forbid someone catches the flu. Sign of times w social and mainstream media closing down the planet every flu season? Torts reform anyone?

Best part? Company paid Non-refundable Airline and hotel reservations for conventions now being used by those "daring, death defying" employees looking to enjoy a vacation.
