SWA year 2/3 Fo. Mostly on year 2 pay.

$165K in wages
$12K from PS (2018 earnings)
$25k in B fund

$202k total.

I live in base and flew mid 800 block and averaged 14 days off a month.

Looks like it was a good year to be an airline pilot! Congrats to the high earners on this thread.

What’s the side business? I’m looking for one but haven’t figured one out that pays more than flying, but I’d like to diversify my income

But yeah, this is just some dude tooting his own horn. It’s irrelevant. Just a look at me post.
Dude, literally everyone who posted is “tooting” the horn... Let’s break this down.

If you work for the regional airlines, highly likely you’re are making a lot less than anyone at the “big 4”.

If you work at LCC/ULCC, moderately likely you’re making more than a regional airline pilot, moderately likely you’re making less than the “big 4”.

If you work at the “big 4”, extremely likely you are making a boat load of money, more money than all the Kings and queens of the world. (Bravo, we all super happy for you)

Now let’s break it down further: If you work 1 day you obviously make WAY less than everyone. If you work 365 days and have no life, most likely you make more than everyone.

So this dude part of the measuring contest, provided some solid information, he downgraded. Found another way to make a boat load of money while working 9 days making peanuts, all while lowering his taxable income and maximizing his income. Probably took this lesson right out of Dave’s book. Give the dude credit, he’s most likely going to be richer and happier than 75% of the people. Literally this thread is all useless information. Everything is public knowledge. Everyone knows how much everyone makes and if you don’t work you obviously make a lot less than those who hustle and work everyday. Back to your horn tooting.

Even the trump doesn’t tell anyone how much he makes.

I totally disagree especially if people post how many days worked. Knowledge is power that can be used to make decisions on which airline they prefer if given the option and possibly to aid in negotiations. For those of you who think it’s a “measuring contest” you have free will not to read the posts but please don’t try and silence people.

I know a guy who gives the most bs answers to questions about his schedule. For december i worked a 6 day trip (2x3 days back to back), a 4 day and a 4 day. All commutable. So i feel like i worked 14 days for 78hrs. He doesnt count the first/last days sometimes so he would say “i was at home 22 days this month”. I really question some peoples days away from home. Or my favorite when he is on reserve “i only worked 7 days this month (but he was on call for 18 days). I take all these worked days with a huge grain of salt.

I didn’t silence.

The dude says he works a few days a month and has a second job.. and his information isn’t good? And he’s “tooting” his horn? Interesting. I read this thread every year. What information is gained? Literally nothing. Some dudes make a lot. Some make a little. Some work a lot some work nothing. No one told the fire fighter that his info was bogus? Why not?

I very much disagree.
Pay rates are public knowledge and readily available. How they can be manipulated and what real life numbers are, are not. I find the information posted about major airline jobs to be incredible useful and relevant. It could help potential applicants, those in the pipeline, and IMO most importantly, those currently at other major airlines trying to understand their own contracts and how to vote.
I could not care less about some random dude’s side business.
And when the same dude gives zero information about what it is, how much time is spent on it, or the level of experience needed to do it, it’s even more useless. It’s just a dude flexing showing everyone he makes money. Congratulations!
