Pretty hard to get the hrs to upgrade when you're giving away all your flying. Plus 7 yrs from now who knows what opportunities there may be. Could very well go into another lost decade.
It's a tough decision for sure. I know when I'm not flying the last thing I want to do is work another job. Flying is tiring and going back to work tired sucks.
I say get on the part 135 and see if you like it. If you do go all in and advance as quickly as you can. In this gig seniority mean almost everything. Run a budget and see if you can manage on the first couple yrs at a regional.
A pension is nice but in 7 yrs in the airlines and advancing as quickly as you can you'll make up for the loss of pension.
Also make sure the wife is on board 100%. If shes not a divorce will suck all the money and life out of you and you're new career.

I picked up One open time trip (three days) and had the entire month after training off prior to starting OE half way through the next month. I also drive to work and get reimbursed rather than DH. Play game, win a little.

I love and applaud the entrepreneurial spirit, however, in the context of this thread, this data means nothing if we don't know how much time you dedicated to it.

But yeah, this is just some dude tooting his own horn. It’s irrelevant. Just a look at me post.
