SWA 12th year captain 9 months (FO for 3)
Pay: $247000
Profit Sharing $20000
Per Diem: $6400 (not added to total)
DC:$37000
Total: $304000
Flew 515 hours
Credit 1162
18-19 days off in full months, 24 days off in vacation month (x4)
Only worked more than 12 days one time (besides training month during upgrade)
Yes, I'm a slacker. I work as densely as possible and knock out my 95 trips per month. That is THE ONLY benefit to our contract. We have very good flexibility. It's a great benefit and I wouldn't want to give it up. But we are very obviously underpaid. There is no way our group should have settled to the point that we are competing for last place among the majors. If it hadn't been for training time, I would have flown nearly 650 hours. Probably more if the Max hadn't been silent. My average over the last 12 years is around 700-715 hours per year. Doing that in as few days possible is great for me, but it's even better for the company. It would be a bargain at the highest narrow body rates in the business.
For everyone contemplating a career choice, this thread provides great information if you can pick through the BS.

I can hold day time flying on the 75 domestic or Airbus, and have been able to for a year. Show depends on what flying you are doing (base trip vs. turn lines). Not my area of expertise though....

Hawaiian Airlines 6 year FO
$242,500
$6,598 Profit Sharing 2018 (Included)
$3,800 Per Diem (Not Included)
$34,400 DC (Not Included)
Averaged 16 days off per month not including vacation. I fly a mix of two day West Coast trips and 3 day International. I wasn’t gone from home more than two nights in a row all year. I usually drop one trip per month and pickup any premium pay (150%) trip that I can. I played the game this year and made an extra 20k.

FDX 3-yr WB FO
1. Hourly earnings - $222k
2. Per diem - $9k
3. 401k (8% DC) - $18.2k
4. Block - 348h
5. Total Comp - $249k
Commuter, living near a hub. Picked up some extra as family schedule allowed. Some months just BLG, some months surged. No idea how many nights away, not sure how to track that.
Been on days for the last couple years. After about the first year, one would have to choose nights in order to get them. It’s all personal preference.
I hesitated to even post this. Only hope the raw data in this thread helps someone make a career/family decision. Happy New Year to all!
