But the Earth is a different matter - unless you actually want to fly fast:

The only gotcha is weight, which translates to structure... it has to be very light, so consequently it can't handle any weather or significant turbulence. So you have to launch on a nice day and climb to the stratosphere. And then you need to be somewhere that thunder-bumpers don't top about 50K. You don't have much energy reserves or speed to dodge anything.

I've answered that assuming you're capable of reading comprehension.

Didn’t you read the effects of every previous tax cut? Second, privatize Social Security over two generations making everyone better off; get rid of Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Energy, for starters. Get rid of ACA, Medicare and Medicaid, replace it with HSA and catastrophic insurance paying medical bills in excess of 10% of AGI. Go from there. It’s not “cut spending, it’s very specific and aimed at trimming back the Federal government to about 12% of GDP.

Point out where in the post you last quoted that I said anywhere that I believe in perpetual motion. I said specifically that it wouldn't work but that that engineer thought he could make some gains. If you spoke to me in person this way you would get your head knocked off your shoulders. Learn to interact with people without insulting them before you leave your basement, especially when you don't quote them accurately.

I can't help that you don't understand basic economics. When the supply of oil eventually is reduced to very low levels due to drillers capping wells and stopping exploration with the world going electric. The price will go higher. The industries that still have to use oil due to weight sensitivities (airlines for example) will suffer price spikes due to the high prices. I never said crack spreads cause prices to go higher or lower. I said it is a factor and will be a more important factor as the supply lowers because refineries will not operate at a loss. The spreads will also skyrocket.

Done with you.

A home mortgage deduction is also a tax subsidy. I do agree with your concept of leveling the playing field by reducing or eliminating tax subsidies for oil.

Yes, that was part of the etc. I would prefer we get rid of all these credits and deductions and special treatment of certain income and loopholes, etc. And replace it with the Fair Tax, a revenue neutral national sales tax of 23% (inclusive) on new goods and services that would replace the federal income taxes including personal, estate, gift, capital gains, alternative minimum, social security, Medicare, self-employment, and corporate taxes. It would exclude business to business, infra-governmental purchases and provide a prebate to families to “untax” purchases up to the poverty level.

Get RID of all of the tax subsidies which is the whole point of flat tax—broaden the base and reduce rates lessening the distortions inherent in our code. But, then, politicians of all stripes couldn’t pay off their supporters with tax subsidies. It’s a vicious cycle that will get worse until the whole system collapses—it will, too.

The Trump tax changes, by reducing the SALT deduction, raising the standard exemption pushed us ever so closer to a better system. Simpler tax form, eliminate SALT and mortgage deduction, raise the standard exemption would be almost perfect. But, listen to the blue states howl as their rich, Democratic voters lose their deductions—both of which were disproportionately skewed to the rich. But, Oofff, loves it.

I didn’t ever say I love deductions, credits, or other “distortions,” as you put it.

please stop trying to put your words in my mouth.
