i thought it was putting solar panels on a mercury, which has a lot of surface area.

Plus when the oil companies are given HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS in tax breaks and deductions every year there isn't much room to complain so I am all for getting rid of any deductions for both EVs and Oil companies. Then we can see what the true price of gas is.

Actually yes, a tax credit is still tax revenue not collected that has to be subsidized by other taxes. But I agree, we should get rid of all of these subsidies, electric, wind, oil, NG, farms, mortgages, student loans, etc.

Yes, flat tax of 12% on all income over 1.5 times the median income, regardless of source. Inflation adjusted for capital gains.

a gift to high earners like that will and should go nowhere. Not to mention that it would dramatically increase the deficit.

Not if you cut spending dramatically. Besides the “tax” on our economy is spending, not taxes or the deficit. Anyway, how’s everybody being taxed equally a “gift”? Every tax “cut” since 1986 has pushed the tax burden to the rich, the bottom 50% pay essentially zero income tax.

Some facts instead of political BS,

seems like it lowers everyone’s taxes except those taking advantage of tax loopholes. A flat tax on all income above a certain threshold seems fair to me.

I can understand your concern about the deficit, but no one in Washington seems concerned about that.

Envy is no way to run a democratic republic. Thou shall not covet is not just a good idea, it’s a commandment..

it dramatically lowers taxes on high earners, and there’s not much way to cut trillions out of our national budget, despite empty chants of “just cut spending.”
