California income taxes

It’s the ultra liberal policies. The homeless “crisis” is just one example. Self-manufactured mostly. The 9th circus Court. Anti American policies that favor illegals over the rest. Mismanaged land and wildfires, plus rebuilding those same homes on the hills that were burned or mudslided. Public sector pension employees who in their there last 3 years, do double shifts and artificially inflate their earnings so the final formula pays out a lot more in retirement. The list goes on. But in terms of weather and scenery, CA is really good.
California fixed the pension issues a few years ago it's just going to take forever to have any effect.

“ The most common destinations for those leaving the state were Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington, he said, as the economy has picked up throughout the west and other parts of the country. Aside from a lower cost-of-living, some Californians are drawn to areas with no state income tax.”
Yeah no kidding. Some are drawn to that? No, they all are. That’s why they’re leaving for those states. My effective state income tax for CA is over 8%. Ridiculous! The only problem is from what I’ve heard even once Californians leave CA, they tend to bring along their liberal politics and mindset with them to those (redder) states, never mind the fact they are basically escaping California BECAUSE of failed liberal policies.

It’s the same with many immigrants that come from countries that have more socialistic form of government. They leave those countries because of those failed policies in order to make a better life here but then bring those same ideas here that they are fleeing. Doesn’t make sense.

As for California, politics aside, it is a great place, very scenic, good economy, nice people. But for me, none of that is worth it with the outrageous cost of living and taxes. It’s not worth paying $30k a year in state income tax to live there for me, especially when you factor in the cost of housing, groceries, restaurants etc. Once my home state of Colorado gets California levels of cost, I will certainly bail as well.

Have any of the anti-California posters here actually ever lived in California? It sounds to me like you’re all just complaining about taxes that you’ve never even had to pay.
When I say lived, I mean actually bought property and put down roots. Two years of mil housing doesn’t count.
Serious question.

Born and raised.. bailed.. won’t ever be back. 9.3 percent? GTFO of here...
If you asked anyone if they wanted a 8-10 percent pay raise, who would say no? Apparently the CA homers who think it’s totally acceptable to be robbed by Sacramento..
I’ll take my income, spending, taxes, productive citizenry elsewhere...
