I had a flight from BUF to BWI in which there was moderate turbulence most of the way and the FAs were sitting in their seats. When we reached smooth air there was only about 10 minutes left before the FAs would have had to secure the cabin, so no service. Upon deplaning a female passenger said to me hat I had to go back to simulator training in order to learn how to avoid turbulence because she didn’t get her gin and tonic.

Just because you don't know what you saw doesn't mean you should automatically jump to the most dramatic, and least probable conclusion.

Along the lines of things passengers say, each year around this time I inevitably get several people who send me the pictures of the "blind" pilots with their sunglasses and guide stick walking through the airport, as though it were totally new and unheard of. Nope, I've seen that picture a thousand times...

How about the "messages between maintenance and pilots from the safest airline in the world" email that always gets passed around like it's the latest news. The airline always seems to be changing. Last I checked it was FedEx. Or was it Qantas. Or maybe Emirates? I've lost track.
