SWA 1000 Turbine PIC immediately

I remember the HRO folks that visited Higher Power while we were there back in February mentioning this was going to happen. They also mentioned they were going to lower the time between interviews from 1 year down to 6 months before you could reapply if you didn't get hired the first time. Did they mention this at all?
Looks like the pilot shortage issues everyone has been hinting at may well be starting. I just read an article over in the Regional section about it as well. Looks like it might be a pilots world here in a bit. Good thing for us; industry wide pay and benefit increases may follow. Just guessing.

That means nothing except they will inundated with more applications than they can read in a year! The competitive experience getting into SWA is probably around 6000TT/2000+PICJET. So why bother lowering them?? Why not just make it 500 and 5 recommendations? That's what it takes anywhere anyway!! - BCD

I know about 10-12 people hired at SWA within the last 3 years and not one of them had any PIC jet. Heck, most of them didn't have ANY jet time. All of their PIC time was turboprop. Most of them had between 4000-5500 hours TT too.

It is just a numbers game. The hiring folks at SWA have to keep the hopper full. 4 days a week of 25 plus applicants a day. That is the equivalent of over 3000+ interviews a year. The old PIC number was not giving them enough bodies.
