Nobody said they're new. My statement was that you don't influence people to your side by slapping them in the face. Do you disagree?

It's funny how grown men are fighting like it's grade school scuffle over who gets to ride the slide first.

It's pretty sad when the jumpseat is the only thing they have left to save what's left of their deteriorating contract.

True enough. But you've got to use the weapons availible to you.

This has gotten to be a really long thread.

Looks like the jumpseat issue is just another way that a few pilots can bash other pilots.

When will we learn that until we get all pilots into "the big tent" and start taking care of one another regardless of what color paint happens to be on an airline's planes, management will continue to pick us apart.

I can't extend jumpseat priveleges any more. However, when I could, and if I can in the future, I will let any pilot on my jumpseat who conducts himself professionally. He is my ally, management is not.

Professionals don't stab other professionals in the back. Non-union pilots who accept jobs that undercut Union contracts are management allies/enablers.

Was Alaska Airlines a union company when it first opened its doors? Why don't you give these guys a chance?

On a positive note, Mr. Green Face is a member of the minority regarding pilots of non-union airlines riding the jump seat.

Hey Green Face, when your pay at ALASKA took a plunge towards the deep end, why didn't you protest it by quitting to save the industry? Since you are quite vocal about saving this industry, why didn't you take action? Oh wait, you're just another hypocrite.

Are you really so dense that you can't recognize the difference between imposed pay rates (either by Bankruptcy Court or an arbitrator) and voluntarily taking a job that undercuts the entire industry?

As long as there are people out there who refuse to recognize the airlines that are leading the race to the bottom of the barrel and continue to lend support to them by offering free transportation to their employees, that giant sucking sound you hear will continue.
