Rough Idea of CA Upgrades for Each Company

On this we agree. Let's hope it's a one-off event.

Criticize the MEC all you want, but we all have to look ourselves in the mirror and ask why we keep electing them.

Airlines were taking a tanking as the economy was winding down in 2000 and 2001. 9/11 just crashed it. Still that's a one-time historic event unlikely to be repeated again in the same manner (eg, multiple commanded aircraft used as weapons at the same time). Still, writing comments about books being written by a pedophile is not germane to the topic at hand.
Sick as it may sound, your fortunes are tied to a few 13 year old clueless #### who are beating themselves in the head memorizing the book of a 7th century murderous, thieving polygamist warlord while fighting to engage in carnal relations with the indigenous livestock.
The above is directly germane to this conversation. Retirements, GDP and projected fleet growth can only provide part of an upgrade estimate. If the clowns I mentioned succeed in a large attack, it too will have a great affect on upgrade estimates, as will other large events like a super volcano or a pandemic.

[QUOTE=Han Solo;2390223]Or a bunch of privileged Ivy League graduates who are best buddies with your airline's CEO that recklessly gamble with their company's money, lose, and then get bailed out by the US taxpayers all while personally reaping tens of millions in bonuses.[/QUOTE
We are not in disagreement here, the bailout was outrageous, especially after the execs used part of it on million dollar bonuses

The only value is looking at the bulge of pilots hired in front of you in a certain date range.
Upgrade times? Are you old enough to remember Miss Cleo?
Around my 1990 vintage, things were rocking and rolling like now. We were told our airline was going to 15,000 pilots and upgrades were coming in hot at 6 years or less.
We dropped under 8000 pilots and spent 18-22 years involuntary time as FO in the right seat. Just imagine that while flying with a clueless CA who upgraded in 5 years.

Their level of success affects your progression more than any other metric.
Sorry.

Sad as it seems, that is the truth.

Sure is interesting how we don't have issues with any other "religion."
Every Muslim might not be a terrorist, but sure looks like every single terrorist on the planet right now sure seems to have Islam in common.
(Calling evil a "religion" doesn't make it any less evil.)

9-11 cost us ALL at least a decade. Don't insult our intelligence by trying to play games here.

I don't think this Shyguy was flying during the period of 9-11-01 or else he would not say such moronic remarks. The U.S airline industry was destroyed because of 9-11. Do not try to blame anything on a recession. Muslim terrorists did more harm to America than any other catastrophe in American history. The more I read shy guys remarks, the more I come to believe that he doesn't belong in a flight deck of any airliner. The last thing any Muslim should do is defend the actions of 9-11 hijackers, unbelievable. Like I said in another thread, I think Shyguy is new to the USA. I can't believe some of the things he posts and he acts like a smart a$$ when he does it. Unbelievable on many levels.
