Anyone getting hired without a degree?

In brief it went something about like this:
The most senior TWA got an offset of typically about 10 years. (i.e. 30 years TWA was set at seniority of a 20 years AA).
The pilots with less than about 20 years with TWA got stapled to the bottom. (i.e. 20 years and less TWA was stapled, in order, under the less than 1 year hire AA). So a 20 year TWA had a number below the less than 1 year hire AA.
The last TWA furloughed pilots after 9/11 (Sept 11, 2001) et. al. finally got recalled May 2016, fifteen long years later.
The TWA FA were cut an even worse deal. The very senior most TWA FA (40 years) was right below the less than 1 year hire AA FA.
Now I need to put a bandaid on that open wound I just picked at.

Also what exactly is an SLI? Thanks!

Good friend of mine was National > Pan Am > DL hired in '87, ended up just junior to me, an 88 hire. Not sure where you're getting that info. Were they originally hired as a PFE?

Slice - You may be right on the DOH, I was just going from memory from when it happened. I remember it was about half of the pilots got stapled. It is something a lot of folks really have tried to forget, it is still painful.
Yesterday I was talking to a 38 year AA FA. An area code AA as she said (seniority number 3 digits). She accepted the AA offer two weeks before she had an offer with TWA. It ended up being the better decision, but for many years she was kicking herself.
Back then, AA was a midsized airline that flew just around the middle part of the US. TWA was the premier airline if you wanted to go east/west around the world. Pan Am was the premier airline if you wanted to go to Latin America. Then Carl Icahn happened and she was glad she went with AA.
As people say, you make your career choice and the day after you retire you know how good a choice you made. Until then. . .

Since hardly anyone on here is actually answering your question I'll give you my hiring update. I only have a 2 yr degree and started working for F9 in January. My application was in for about 3 weeks, zero recommendations, and total time was around 3300 hrs. I spent less than 2 years at my regional. That being said, the pay here is awful, which is probably one of the reasons why everything happened so fast. Good luck with your job hunt!

And every 3-6 months prior, like clockwork, going back to before Christ was a co-pilot.
