The northeast... Especially anywhere within 50 miles of a major city... Granted a chicken coup row home will cost you about 200 grand...

In most major metropolitan areas of the northeast and west coast teachers make over 45 to 55K. The Seattle Times listed 54K as the average teacher wage in King County.

Even at 30K it is a good job. Aside from wages they also get a nice retirement and good benefits. They work less than 8 hours a day. Do a job that they seem to enjoy. And, don't forget that they also get every holiday, two weeks in December, one week in the spring and the entire summer off. Additionally, teachers often work a second job in the summer adding to their earning potential.

Not a bad gig when compared to the average regional pilot job.

Hell, not a bad gig when compared to most regional Captain slots... or any career for that matter...
