EWR Crash Pad and Crashpads.com?
Hi all,
I'm fresh out of training and headed to Newark. I've discovered that online resources for crash pads are lacking, to say the least. Any recommendations for EWR? Are there any areas that should be avoided?
Does anyone have insight on crashpads.com? Is it worth the $15? Are there any other sites that you recommend? Thanks!

Crash pads in the area start at $195 (for line holders) up to around $300 for reserve guys depending on what you want (hot bed, private room etc)
I Stay at "The Blocked Inn". $260 a month, option of a reserved bed for more $$$.
WiFi, cable, new apartments with full furnishings (washer dryer iron oven etc)
They have a maid service that washes all of the towels and sheets and makes the beds EVERY day.
5 minute walk to small grocery store with EXCELLENT $4 subs.
10 minute walk from Stop and Shop
Transportation is provided in the form of a valet parking service that will pick you up from the terminal and drop you off a 50yrd walk to the pads.
The downside is the neighboorhood but its Newark...
Hope that helped!
BTW, who you fly for?

Hot Bed is a bed that has a thermal electric blanket
Nah it means that its a first come first serve basis. You show up, the bed is free, you claim it. the next day you can come back and somone will be sleeping in it, so you go pick the next one (There has always been enough beds, on average we are 4-5 people in a pad designed for 11)
Welcome to the Q, I hope to see you around the crew room. PM me if you have any questions about the "goings on". I will be happy to help.

Just saying, even though it is newark airport, but the surrounding area on the soutside is part of elizabeth and people mistaken it for newark giving it THAT impression.sure it has its goog and bads.
I see plenty of pilots crashing at the apartments near the liquor store, across perkins
If the stop and shop your talking about is located near the park and kean university than yaa tats elizabeth.
Also speaking of prostitutes they everywhere....there are prolly one or two brothels down the street from the place mentioned... :x

nJ crash Pad
I live in Parsippany near all highways, if you don't have a car UBER is cheap, it is a private room with single bed, Internet, cable dresser etc. full use of house. I currently have two full time air force pilots here with their own room. Nice town, plenty of shops and places to eat if you don't cook.
