Default NEW CBA

This contract must have major, notable, greater, prominent, significant, improvements in compensation, LTD/STD, scheduling, language, sick pay accrual, vacation accrual, vacation bidding, commute policies, sick policies, etc., etc., etc. This MEC and negotiations team desperately needs to be "negotiating" high gains at little to no cost. If we are constantly being compared to Giant our new contract should blow their (arbitrated) contract out of the water. We are 1/3 the size and carry only a fraction less than Atlas. That means we work way harder to earn each and every penny paid out in our paychecks.

But I'm afraid that even if this negotiations team hits a home run, without sCrew Resources (Crew Rescheduling) being wrangled in and put back under control of the DO, the pilot hemorrhaging will continue. I'm sure the almighty bean counters have crunched the numbers. And it's more cost effective to have a revolving door rather than to retain pilots. I'm not sure when or how it started but there is definitely an atmosphere of retaliatory efforts on CR's behalf. I feel as if my boss is Alicia. Not the CPO or the new DO. Come on Yipsters, get your act together and make Kalitta a destination for quality talent.

And get a God Damn crew travel department back in here. And hire a consultant today to teach you folks how to communicate for F#@&sake.

I enjoyed my time at K4 and honestly think they run a good business for the most part. But to butcher a line from Warren Miller: If you don't leave K4 now, you'll just be another year older when you do.

While I want you all to get an industry leading contract in terms of pay, benefits, and work rules, we need to be realistic about our respective employers market share and which pilots work harder.

According to the US DoT Bureau of Transportation Statistics 2023 data of Non Stop Domestic and International Freight, Kalitta hauled 26.5% of Atlas Air World Wides total.

Kalitta Air: 1,476,663,165 Lbs

Atlas Air: 4,065,864,123 Lbs
Polar Air: 1,500,124,404 Lbs
AAWW Total: 5,565,988,527 Lbs

You would also need to add in some type of passenger/cargo equalizer to account for all the pax flights Atlas conducts. Of course, that would lower your percentage and ruin your narrative.

If you're so happy at your new employer I'm finding it difficult to understand why you still choose to spend time in these forums talking **** about Kalitta and other acmis. I'm genuinely happy here and many of the toxic people have left and made this an even better place to work. I was pretty unhappy at my previous employer and after leaving I've had zero motivation to go and post in their forums about how terrible of a place it is so I'm really having trouble understanding your motivation for doing so. Seems like a general bitterness to me but maybe K4 wronged you terribly idk.

I'm one of the many hold outs for this contract. I have a strong inkling that I along with many others, will be leaving after reading and voting on the TA. I see it all to much that the more senior folks here are stuck in the mental mode of "It could be way worse, consider yourself lucky." Well there are greener pastures out there. I have yet to fly with a single person that admits to voting yes for the current CBA or for the current MEC for that matter. Didn't I just read a shared finacial report that states,
"Kalitta Air is the most profitable airline in the industry." ? "Of particular interest was line 20, Corporate Return on Investment. In the most recent quarter, the average across the industy was 3.1 (7.2 for cargo majors). Kalitta's was far and away the highest at 29.8. Thats a 2,980% return on original investment! (UPS comes in at a 1.5, or 50% return on investment.)"

I listed 2023 Pounds of Non Stop Freight, not payload. Purely a cargo statistic. Add in the passengers and we are doing even more work.

I don't think all the "senior" pilots are in that mental mode, for some giving up seniority and to a certain extent, to start back at the bottom somewhere for possibly a chance to upgrade and be reserve until they retire is not an option. I think we are all aware that there needs to be major changes, especially when it comes to putting a leash on sCrew Resources and keeping them out of our paychecks, the new DO has already chewed AL a new a-hole on a couple of occassions and this might be the cause of retalliation on CS part. I have a feeling though, they (MEC), are working towards some big improvements. However when the time comes and we have a TA, READ IT ALL not just compensation, form your opinion and vote accordingly. I have flown with a few that have said they don't care if we basically get the moon they will vote NO regardless and force the company's hand. This is also not the right attitude.
