Good luck with ALPA. Historically, they get tuckered out in short order when negotiating for ACMI dirtbags like us. I saw it at Atlas. Now you guys are really going to pay for your decision to leave IBT. I hope you all socked away a LOT of overtime with those 24 hour duty days.
And I wish you all the best. Rising tides lift all boats, etc.

Ask yourself how your life has been since the contract was passed. Did you all notice how poorly the company started to treat the pilot group as soon as we voted in the new contract? Unfortunately, most people did not take the time to review the contract, because they relied upon our MEC to do their due diligence and present a worthy document. People trusted the MEC to do the right thing and look after our best interest, but unfortunately, they stabbed all of us in the back. We need a clean slate and anyone that served in the present MEC needs to be sent packing, in order for the new team to proceed unimpeded. Give some serious consideration as to why the present contract was voted in, when you reflect back on the people that brought you this insulting document, then vote to fix it. The Mossman slate brings a new perspective to the table, and moving forward I encourage everyone to think about the future.
For the new hires that are eligible to vote, you need to understand that the current contract gave the first-year employees a pay cut, this was due to the increased insurance costs. The insult of the one-percent pay raise did not cover the new medical premiums. Consider this, is this really the leadership you want moving forward? If your answer is no, then be sure everyone running for a position on the MEC is replaced.

The OP wasn't referencing the differences between ALPA and IBT representation going into this contract cycle - our current contract is an ALPA document, and fewer than a quarter of the pilots currently on property at K4 were in place to vote on which union would represent the pilot group. Not that I expect that piece of information to interrupt the sniping in this thread or anything, but that's important context.
K4's LOA increasing the 401k DC to 12% went into effect this month. 5Y's LOA would exceed ours, though I understand theirs has some strings attached on which I'm not qualified to comment. Hopefully we can carry some of the current momentum in the industry into our segment of the business. Atlas's cast-off over at FedEx has loudly announced his intention to undermine their ALPA pilot group by farming out more of the shop to ACMIs. It would be wise of us to use that fact to draw more focus at the union's national level to addressing the compensation gap currently in place, regardless of who is representing us.
