I was there 3.5 years, I was awarded 74 captain but left just before training started. I enjoyed the flying and most everything else besides the politics there. Maybe I've got rose colored glasses on remembering my time there. Best thing I did was leave after that last contact.
This place will give you what you want to get out of it. You have to be your own boss to survive traning and upgrade if you stick around long enough. You understand once you get out on the line. Basic CYA. It works for me and life could be could always be worse.
It boils down to what you can put up with and the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I'm hoping the union wised up after the narrow passage of the last contract. Time will tell.
I've stuck it out and have two widebody upgrades to show for it. I'm good! No loyalty these days in the industry and zero patience when a contract didn't go your way.

I wish the best for all those at K4 that are either too commited to leave or the lifestyle just works out better for them to stay.
To say we have zero loyalty or patience when a contract doesn't go our way is one the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. I put in the work with the union, tried to tank this terrible contract, and tried to recall leadership. To be honest there's just way too much apathy and stockholm syndrome for real change over there without strong union leadership in place. When that wasn't going to change, a terrible contract was just signed, and we had a DO telling us if we didn't like what we have then leave...decision was real easy.

I make more money as a 73 CA then I ever did there as a 74 CA at Kalitta. I also now have things like a real retirement, QoL, work rules, real training department, company culture, and a real schedule. Keep telling yourself it's a lack of loyalty while he's enjoying greener pastures.

I've had a real bear of a rotation. Almost a dozen significant operational delays after duty on - most related to maintenance (much of the fleet is either limping into or out of A Check following the holidays). Event logs, deviation reports, circular firing squads of different departments all blaming each other for not having a flight ready to go when I'm still smack in the middle begging for someone to make it legal to go about my business. A min guarantee line with carry-in days leading to a >16 day trip, resulting in my flying too many hours to operate any flights besides Part 91 - a point which the company failed to catch until I refused a revenue flight. Attempted exceedance of contractual duty times. A fatigue call. All things I've dealt with before in my time at Kalitta, just happening in rapid succession. Nothing I felt unable to handle - to quote a retired captain, I have finished every day alive, employable, and employed, in that order.
Every one of these operational challenges has resulted in multiple phone calls, usually with different departments who do not communicate with each other in an effective manner. Many times, the speaker has reassured me that they are on my side - a point which only serves to remind my crew that there are "sides," and someone in a position of power is not on ours. As BitterOHFO pointed out, all of the above is a significant improvement over the terms of employment here before Contract 2016 - a time when I and the vast majority of pilots on property right now did not consider Kalitta an acceptable place to work.
Our long-term customers have informed Kalitta that they do not feel comfortable awarding us more flying with our current operational chaos and visible failure to secure proper staffing. This is very similar to the position the company found itself in before C2016, and it is the reason that the company has opened negotiations early. Pilots are observing the company repeating the mistakes that tarnished their reputation in the past, and changing their career plans accordingly. As our freshly ****canned former DO was so fond of saying, if you do not like it, leave. The consequences of that attitude are on full display.

Couldn't really tell you what Hogrider is on about, but for my part:

Bull****. Seen the new recruits from class to class. They can’t recruit ****. The most dangerous place on a K4 aircraft is in the observer seat watching your career wash away while some ****tard from Australia scrubs a pod or flies you into a mountain!!

Sounds to me like you guys are actually agreeing. But I'll agree with both of you. Recently went to the back during cruise to get a cup of coffee and came back front a few min later to find that the new bloke had completely erased the entire flight plan. No magenta in sight anywhere. Apparently didn't think it was noteworthy enough to page me or ask anyone else.

Also do the FMS’s on Boeing planes have a ‘copy active’ or similar feature for saving a flight plan?
