They did.
However they didn’t say they were going to put out 572 pages of out of order, sideways data without input.
They also didn’t say they were going to make drastic changes to the number of 1 duty period lines. A major change in status quo and quality of life for some, if not many.
They didn’t say composite lines were going away. Just that that they could be built after lines awarded and before the month starts.
So yes, my opinion is this is bad. Very bad.
Will it get better? Hopefully. It’s going to be painful in the meantime.

Default Hiring

Well, it’s been a month now since they managed to win the contract. I’ve got to say, what I called about the “airline recovery” has already begun.

Frontier is hiring
Jet Blue is hiring
Spirit will open their window soon
Most regionals has started again.
And now the majors have recalled the pilots on leave.
Yes, it’s not 100% back, but it’s a Big upswing and summer hasn’t started yet. I’ve got a feeling pilots will be in demand again soon.

Hopefully, you’re right, and hopefully, the company will need to hash out a few more MOU’s to sweeten the pot for guys to stay here. If not, let people leave....keep that OT train rolling.

Nobody argued otherwise. What they correctly saw was that with K4 being at the top of the ACMI feeding frenzy (purple and brown excluded) you won't have trouble attracting pilots for a while. You'd have sat working under the old CBA in protracted section six for a few years at least. Then you'd be starting the negotiations from where you were, instead of now, where you will be. Even if by some miracle the hiring well dries up sooner and K4 can't attract more new hires than ABX, ATI, Atlas, and the rest.... management will just come fix it with a bunch of LOA's or MOU's once it's a problem and negotiate an improvement to your CBA to get enough in the door.

You grabbed decent gains for a short term CBA that reopens in 3 years. I think you guys are in a really good position. After being bought by ATSG and now being in their soon to be whipsaw is going to suck. You guys still hiring ?
