So far I see a lot of split lines. Some with 1-2 day pairings.
Since when did we start pairings outside the lower 48 with no DH to get there?

Quick count showed about 180 carryover days into May (some are on 2/1 crewed lines others on 0/1 so I’m guessing a rough average of 2 for 1 total man days).
That seems like...a lot. Assuming most hombres want the time back in May vs the OT, I’m curious as to how the May schedule is going to play out. 🍿🍿

Because they don’t plan on using the program during the month and only for bidding purposes I don’t believe there will be any difference in next months bids. Manual changes after the fact? Heck yes, HUGE.....
With this said, I hope the powers to be get this ridiculousness thrown out and start over. This format is beyond un manageable to sort through. This is another example of implementation of a new tool significantly, and negatively affecting virtually only the pilot group. Why not have run this in the background for a few months with a select group providing feedback before rolling it out? I don’t believe anyone would have signed off on 572 pages of data (not even in numerical order by the way, heck, not even properly rotated to read!) to sort through to bid. How long did it take to get a simple fix of the portal from local to Zulu time? Over a year for sure.
The thing I noticed is all the split lines. Major negative change. If you like split lines they are great. But many of us don’t.
Also, How in the world did we go from not knowing China flying before bids were out with numerous China lines, to absolutely none? Immediately?
Quality of life around here has taken a significant nose dive as of late. These split lines subject us to the garbage travel program twice as often as well as costing us another day off.

It been about 24 hours. How about we let this play out and see how it all works. There are a lot of benefits to what we see here. Might take a little while to get the kinks out.....but this might be the best thing to happen to this pilot group. One of the biggest drawbacks for some to ACMI flying is the long line of time every month with your seniority meaning little. This may flip the script.
I do agree that this may make seniority something more useful.
However, we are supposed to be professionals. And as such, we should be smart enough not to stand under the shower while turning it on not realizing how miserable it will be, instead of letting it run and normalize before jumping in.
Throw it out for now, run it in the background with input and significant changes to readability format (lines stacked with entire month on each line so you can see the days you want/need off to narrow down your focus) more single work periods so you don’t lose another day off traveling (some like splits but I bet it isn’t 2/3rds + of the group) and put the trips in numerical order, THEN climb in.

Its going to take a lot more than 24 more hours to sort through this data to come up with a realistic educated bid. Bidding is not our only responsibility from the 12th-16th.

Also, you’re complaining like a flight attendant about the split lines while ignoring all the lines with extra days off. I’m junior and will probably get a split with min days off, but can see that it’s great to have higher day-off lines to look forward to down the road.
Finally, just give the union a minute to try and mitigate the downside of additional D-0 travel. Clearly, everybody knows about this.
