IMHO...The sooner we get to 99% renewable energy, the better off we will all be, as a whole. The increase in renewable power for transportation will probably lead to a decrease in jet fuel prices (assuming we keep the current massive subsidies in place). The unknown is how fast the Big Oil companies will stop trying to find/pump more oil, as it becomes economically unfeasible, due to a variety of factors. The other unknown is how fast the new travel tech gets to the airlines...

The oil companies will do just fine as we will be the only country in the world to have such a major part of our transportation system electrified. The rest of the world will go on using oil for decades until they catch up. Also someone has to fuel the mining equipment that needs to run 24/7 to pull the metals out of the ground to make all the batteries and micro chips.

Health Care
Don’t forget to include the increased cost of health care in our compensation calculation. It may not be much but it totals between 2%-6% of your total 10% increase (2.5% each year over 4 years) only making the accumulative pay increase between 4%-6% depending on your current pay rate. Each pilot is really only getting a 1%-2% pay increase each year. Not very good.

MEC just sent out an email where you can set all your parameters and see how you Would benefit or lose out under the proposed CBA vs the current one. Good tool, but needs to have per diem completely removed from the calculations. Per Diem is NOT compensation; it’s a offset to having to eat on the road.
The Union is showing us what Gross compensation is under the new TA, why not show us what net compensation would be (excluding taxes) at 64 hours. Like including the increased cost of health care.

sorry, just a pet peeve. like when regionals include it as part of a compensation overview to make the turd look a little more shiny. And yes, many people do base what they eat and drink while on the road on their per diem amount.

But the cost of living rises every year so even if you’re eating the exact same thing it’s going to cost you more.

NO vote.
I don’t see any way not to vote NO on this TA.
The scheduling section has a serious unintended consequence in it.
By protecting the first person to acknowledge a trip it is playing into the trip thieves hands (we have many). If this passes all they will have to do is call their favorite scheduler, request a trip they see un-crewed in MISA, wait for it to populate in their portal and acknowledge. Now they have contract protection to keep moving. Leaving the rest of us behind and lower on credit.
I’m sure the negotiating committee did not intend to create this loophole, but it seems clear as day.
This, plus the sub standard direct contribution, less than cost of living raise, and I am a hard NO..
