The other unknown is how fast the new travel tech gets to the airlines...

We are WAY behind a number of other countries on electrifying our transportation system...we used to be #1, but we gave up the lead (in a LOT of industries) to others so The Rich could outsource all the jobs so they could have more money.

Default Health Care

Don’t forget to include the increased cost of health care in our compensation calculation. It may not be much but it totals between 2%-6% of your total 10% increase (2.5% each year over 4 years) only making the accumulative pay increase between 4%-6% depending on your current pay rate. Each pilot is really only getting a 1%-2% pay increase each year. Not very good.

MEC just sent out an email where you can set all your parameters and see how you Would benefit or lose out under the proposed CBA vs the current one. Good tool, but needs to have per diem completely removed from the calculations. Per Diem is NOT compensation; it’s a offset to having to eat on the road.

I thought the same too! And the compensation tool should only be based in monthly guaranteed a pilot plan into on 65 or more hours just because they always have is planning for a financial crisis.

The Union is showing us what Gross compensation is under the new TA, why not show us what net compensation would be (excluding taxes) at 64 hours. Like including the increased cost of health care.

I generally agree with your point about per diem not being compensation, but it’s included because you will get more money if it passes and the same amount if it fails. Nobody is going to eat more or less this year based on whether this thing passes or fails.

sorry, just a pet peeve. like when regionals include it as part of a compensation overview to make the turd look a little more shiny. And yes, many people do base what they eat and drink while on the road on their per diem amount.

But the cost of living rises every year so even if you’re eating the exact same thing it’s going to cost you more.

Default NO vote.

I don’t see any way not to vote NO on this TA.
The scheduling section has a serious unintended consequence in it.
By protecting the first person to acknowledge a trip it is playing into the trip thieves hands (we have many). If this passes all they will have to do is call their favorite scheduler, request a trip they see un-crewed in MISA, wait for it to populate in their portal and acknowledge. Now they have contract protection to keep moving. Leaving the rest of us behind and lower on credit.
I’m sure the negotiating committee did not intend to create this loophole, but it seems clear as day.
This, plus the sub standard direct contribution, less than cost of living raise, and I am a hard NO..
