Default Negotiating committee resigned

OK so we all saw that our negotiating committee submitted their resignations and got a thanks and round of applause from most of us. How can the union proceed with more negotiations without a legit negotiating committee? Aren't those guys supposed to be elected ....or are they selected? Can the union head just deem whomever he wants to be the negotiator for the union (not criticizing him just asking the question)? I'm not knocking the old negotiating committee either but they resigned...shouldn't their be some sort of election or request for volunteers? Procedurally was this whole AIP/ TA negotiated correctly in the end? If not, could this buy us a month or two delay in the vote (to see what happens with Atlas) while we put the negotiating team together correctly?

For what it’s worth, you aren’t going to be hearing any news from atlas in a month or two. Best case scenario is that we’ll have a CBA by late summer, in my personal opinion.

So here is what happened
we have been on this committee for 7 years and are frankly burned out...when we resigned in December it was because we were at an impasse and the MEC was going to request that the NMB appointe a Federal Mediator....which would have ment at least 1-2 years more work for us....we just are not up for that

In late December after some back and forth the MEC came to an Agreement in Principle with the Company....we were asked to stay on and finish the TA and bring it to a vote....since December we have worked 8-10 a day, every day, to make that happen....the work is done
our resignations take affect March 1st

all committees members are appointed by the MEC
if its something your interested in...contact them

btw...you could have just called or emailed us..we are very accessible

Good job making the TA electronic format because other than that we would have got 286 pages of toilet paper. Insulting pay, insulting DC, zero QOL issues addressed the list just goes on and on. Complete bovine excrement.

It’s a shame. We did everything right, made things happen for the company and we’ve been growing based upon our own success. I really thought we would of been rewarded for the effort.

Just my guess, they are taking the current climate and trying to get this approved before things change again to the pilots positive. Oh well, I’ll vote how I feel, and I fee I’ve given my all and deserve more in return.
Just so you are aware. The only LCC/ULCC WITHOUT a straight Direct Contribution is Allegiant.

NK/F9/Jet Blue all have 15% DC. NK is at 14% this year, but will be 15% next.

If you map out your career with a DC vs a Match, the amount of money in your retirement account is very significant with a DC.

So... definitely fight for that!

Believe me we were well aware of what the LCC and ULCC have for benefits
it was part of our strategy - which only worked as long as K4 pilots were willing to leave for one of those carriers

that strategy fell apart in March 2020

I don't have any thoughts on the TA I feel comfortable sharing on a public forum before the vote, but I just wanted to thank the outgoing negotiating team for what must have been a very difficult (and mostly thankless) job this past year. I look forward to a lot of spirited discussions outside of sterile cockpit on my coming rotation.

I know you guys tried, but in the end what management offered was different.

My thought is that almost off of us here could move to a LCC or elsewhere almost anytime. Yes. I know COVID is out there and now the aviation industry is different. However, in a year, things will be different again, but the contract is locked. My argument (against management) is they are taking a momentary setback in the industry to achieve long term cuts.
If we were facing financial hardships, if we weren’t a success, if we haven’t worked so hard to help them out, I would understand. But I’m at a loss of how they could say that LLC pilots deserve better pay and benefits than us.
