really surprised they don’t just start you out of ICN. It’s not like your line really means anything. I knew a couple of guys who lived in Europe and they would just call CR and ask if they had anything departing out of Europe that needed covering and were usually accommodated

How does Reserve work at Kalitta, do you sit Reserve at home or does the company fly you to a location like ANC to sit reserve?
Is Kalitta still hiring for both the 77 and 74 at the moment?
Do you get hazard pay for flying into "hazardous locations"?
Do Kalitta pilots get to keep the miles earned from flying to/from the Home Basing to staging to the aircraft?

In general, someone living overseas needs to expect to commute on their own to the US (either their self-designated US home base, or an exception as requested by an official form submitted prior to travel) in order to pick up the company provided commute to the start of their line. That being said, it's a bonus if CR is able to *sometimes* provide alternate transportation that makes that commute to the US easier (i.e. occasional foreign transporation *if* it's cheaper and more convenient to the company, and the particular scheduler that day maybe happens to be in a good mood). But as many folks have found out, it's only considered case by case, there are no guarantees of that whatsoever, and you can't count on it.

I've tried to scrub thru all 400+ pages so apologies up front if I missed it.
I'm thinking of Kalitta for the 74 (having had my interview paused at Atlas). I am in Fairbanks, thus Atlas as #1. I understand I would fly to meet the jet, being in Alaska the commute can be hell (I know some of you commute internationally and I applaud the effort!). If I were in my 20s I'd do it without hesitation--but I've got a fairly good QOL now and wanted real experiences before I made the jump.
Will they positive space me business class (read 3 hour or more it's business class or better)? Chances of meeting the bird in ANC? I know all this is dynamic, but I was wondering if anyone here has done Hawaii or Alaska specifically and what their experiences were.
Agian, apprecaite the time and effort. Fly safe!

pay for the upgrade coming to and from work unless it’s international to start/finish.The company no longer operates for geographic convenience as of covid times. Everyone reports to the lower 48 to start their rotation. There are hopes for international commuting privileges with the next contract. With this actual line holder lines and reserve lines would help with the scheduling an*l probing.

The above Business Class is for Deadheading once on duty. Not the commute to work. You will have to rely on airline status for that or
