No, I’m asking these questions before I show up to training, in seven weeks from now. If I don’t like the responses I receive I can always change my mind. But I spoke with someone in the know and I’m more than satisfied with the conversation so it’s not an issue. Nobody needs to go out of their way to respond with answers to my questions.

Is the schedule more consistent or loose and flexible like the 747? How long (or what’s the longest) will a crew layover in a hotel waiting for the next tail to rotate through? How often will you airline around the world to get in front of your jet?
lines are 14-16 day lines. Credit range on lines 64-95 hrs, however actual probably average 90-100. CVG-HNL-SYD-SIN-HKG-NGO-LAX-CVG, throw a CVG-BAH-HKG in there possibly.
This is not 100% exact. Layovers 24 -36 hrs usually. May vary.
I’m sure I’ll get grief too from this post.

If you get grief from that, those folks would not be of sound mind, etc. Passed thru SIN recently and can’t seem to hang out for a bit. Not much left on my greatest hits list to finalize, but SIN has most definitely been in my crosshairs for awhile now. Don’t want to pop positive for being negative so it will happen - definitely!

Lighten up Francis? You don’t even know if that guy works for Kalitta. Also, it is a legitimate question. When people ask a question like yours it sometimes indicates that the accepted without knowing what they were getting themselves into. I remember on young man who said to me that he was going to call scheduling and see if they could let him go home 4 days early because his 8 year old son was going to be in the championship soccer game for their league. He said that they told him that they adjust schedules for important family events. When he received his no answer he said that he was going to look for a new job because not being home for these important events was not going to work for him.

Default No Improvements on the horizon????

March "Everyone says they want QOL improvements but that's different to each pilot, so we don't know what to focus on" (10-15 pilots leave)
April "Everyone says they want QOL improvements but that's different to each pilot, so we don't know what to focus on" (10-15 pilots leave)
May "Everyone says they want QOL improvements but that's different to each pilot, so we don't know what to focus on" (10-15 pilots leave)
June "We know we need to make some adjustments to keep guys from leaving"(10-15 pilots leave)
July "The union is sending out a survey so we can see what the majority of guys want"(10-15 pilots leave)
Aug" The union survey should show us what guys want" (10-15 pilots leave)
Sept "The survey is gonna show us what we should focus on" (10-15 pilots leave)
Oct "The union has the survey and they're going to present it to us soon" (10-15 pilots leave)
Nov " We're meeting with the union this week to discuss grievances and the survey" (10-15 pilots leave)
Dec......................................????? 10 months of inaction (10-15 pilots leave)
Down 150-200 pilots in 2022 with NOTHING done to address the problem.
I am on the fence. I have opportunities (class dates, yes multiple), I don't want to leave, I am a 50+ Captain, decent seniority level. Convince me to stay. It's time to quit talking and do something!

13 to 15 day lines WAS the improvement. Nothing else will improve. Management is hoping the economy crashes and mainline hiring slows down, kicking the can til the next contract. If hiring and attrition continue, they’ll park the BCFs and cannibalize pilots for the new Triples.

Just rip off that bandaid. I left the CA seat for a Legacy. It’s been a big weight off my shoulders that I didn’t even know that I had. The money will be there…..

This isn't written as a dig, and I hope it's not taken that way. You are a captain at Kalitta Air which means you have been here for at least 4-5 years. Nothing in your experience here should have led you to believe that the company would negotiate outside of the amendable date of our CBA. I am constantly amazed by people I work with telling stories and laughing about how hardnosed Connie is in business. In the next breath they are asking me when I think the company is going to cave and give us more money or QOL improvements. We are just another group that they are doing business with. Why is it shocking that they would treat us the same way they treat everyone else?
