Maybe the 777 or 767?

Been checking the K4 careers page daily to see if the FO job opening is listed yet. I’ve emailed the HR address that a current Connie pilot gave me but no joy. 2.5yrs of 777 freighter experience and anticipating to be furloughed from UAL this fall. Would be nice to have a plan in place.

I am interested to know why you think Kalitta would hire you knowing that you would go right back to UAL? They are not exactly short on interested pilots.

maybe because we hired about 30 furloughed UA pilots in the 2008-2012 time frame...K4 management always knew they were going back to UA...so what do you think has changed in 9 years?

Well...there are/were plenty of folks who have been waiting in the wings for interviews. A large percentage of these folks, I suspect, would be happy to drop anchor here for a career. Temp employees may be less desirable. Unless they are completely hard-over for typed people.

From what I hear 08-12 was a different landscape. The contract didn’t attract many applicants and the company was looking for the most convenient warm bodies to put in their seats. Today they seem pickier and say they want people who want to make K4 their last employer. In other words K4 is not the desperate ex who will always take you back anymore. I believe that would be Atlas today.
