I can't recommend JetBlue at this time

IMO while progress is still being made on the DR negotiations picket would hurt more than help the pilot group. There are too many open sections for a mediator to deal with. Once progress stops being made then you may see picketing and other legal actions. Until then the pilot group needs to follow the guidance of the MEC and fly SOP.

I haven't read that thread but I'd imagine it's a super senior FO that bids Check Airman lines. There's maybe 30 FO's in the entire company that can do that. They get all their trips bought off them and then pick up over top them (or never fly). Good for them but hardly a true representation of what's possible here.

And in true pilot fashion he probably sleeps in the crew lounge to avoid the cost of a crashpad/hotel, drinks only the coffee from the crew lounge, and eats a lunch of Blue Chips and Craisins to avoid buying lunch. Pilots - a high earning career with a penchant not to spend any of it.

I also never understood why people include per diem in their total compensation? Per diem is to cover expenses when traveling for work, unless you live off of blue chips to save every penny of your $2/hr lunch money.
I love when people brag about how much money they make here, but then you find out they are VDA/RSA *****s and PTO sellback people. They don't realize they have to do all of this crap to make up for our sh!tty pay and work rules while giving up their QOL. I still believe this pilot group is doomed and we won't see a solid CBA for several more years.

A good general wag is to take the hourly rate and multiply it by 1,000. There will be those who make more and those who make less, but that will give you a good idea of gross earnings.

- Year 1 - $44k Gross (then subtract out all other insurance costs, commuting costs such as crashpads, etc.)
- Year 2 - $80k Gross
Pay is definitely far below peers and heavily tilted towards people who live in NYC. They are really the only ones who can sit reserve at home, never fly, do RSA, VDA, day turns only, and whatever other scam they have.
