I echo the others above that you doing your job as you "see fit" is undermining our negotiating position. How can you not get that through your head??

Listen to your MEC speak then. FLY SOP. SOP doesn't include stand up PAs and dumpster diving in the cabin.

Geez. I bet management would love to know who this Southerner guy is so they can give him an "atta boy" and an extra slice of pizza.

Sadly we will not change Southerners opinion on this. I just hope our captains are shutting him down! Frustrating this guy doesn't get it, some unity he has. I can only pin point this as selfishness on his part. Could only imaging what it would be like flying a four day with him !

I'm very much in favor of unity. I'm a dues paying ALPA member in good standing. I fully support our union and the negotiating committee. But I'm not miserable. That's what aggravates you miserable types so much, and I kinda enjoy that fact.

It's when you stand in the front of the cabin to do the welcome aboard PA announcement. Used to be a big thing back in the good old days before everyone had a YouTube account and Facebook Live. Now a mis-speak or unintentionally misconstrued remark can get you a carpet dance so the wise among us don't do it. ALPA considers it a liability and strongly advises against it yet some guys still insist..

Lots of I's in your We.

Most are not miserable we just understand that Management 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and current 4.0 and then next management team will never make our case for us while we have far too many in our mist far who will make the case for them. For instance, 'cleaning is not so bad when .... ".

I understand it is cute to say those who are more militant are miserable when in fact it is the stand or stance that this Management team and the previous team has fostered.

Being nice has gotten us no where but backwards.

Going above and beyond has been used against us.

Our integrity is a weakness that Jetblue management has exploited to the tune of over $2.0 billion in "concessions" since 2007.

I'm not miserable at work until I come across a colleague who actively undermines our negotiating position and acts in contradiction to our MEC's instructions. Every airline management is anti-pilot; not every airline has a large contingent of juicers who work against the pilot group.

Don't expect this to change if you get on at a major. Management still tries to pressure Captains. Sometimes it works. Sometimes management threatens discipline, but with ALPA, as long as you have a halfway reasonable safety leg to stand on, it won't happen (or at least you will be made whole, even if it takes a while).
