Contract Talks

Anybody else think Robin and Marty are lying about the January financials? 4th quarter profits and 2016 profits still finished above forecast. Making it sound as if the sky is falling because January looks to be lower than normal, and then saying we have to trim flights seems a little odd? I think they don't want to pay us, and this is there way of saying we should keep working with this ****ty agreement or we will have to furlough?
This absurd made up doom and gloom looks to be a very childish and an illegal tactic to make us settle for less. Nobody at the investors call on Thursday could explain why it was lower than expected. They gave no reason except weather and the holidays were the same week, leading to less travel? They knew the holiday dates years ago, and all of a sudden, Easter in April not March may lead to even less revenue?
I think they are trying to Jedi mind trick us into taking less money than we deserve! I say, **** the juice and wear the lanyard! I would rather risk furlough, than take less money. I am also within 100 from bottom, and not a captain making 12 yr pay. My 53/hr is pretty ****ty, so not sure how it could be any worse. Screw management...let's get what we deserve!!!

Btw, I really wanted B6 to be my final stop, but I deserve better, as do we all.

Well if they are trying to "Jedi mind trick" us, it's a bad idea. In fact, after the latest financial report, the unilateral mandates, and the lack of urgency to get us an industry comparable contract, there are a few of us at 4-5 years seniority now preparing to leave. Certainly not an overwhelming consensus, but I cant imagine that we're the only ones fed up with the lip service and games from management.

For me, assuming it takes 18 months to get to a legacy, Ill recoup my losses by 50 and have some better health care and retirement (B-fund), under a superior contract and seasoned union. Here, Ill be lucky to make middle pack 320 CA, working weekends/holidays and my B___s off to clear 250K. To each his own- good luck to us all.

I dont have more time. Im 45 with 4 yrs seniority. I dont have much to lose. For guys who live in NY and Boston, its a great gig and they can pick up RSAs and patch this understaffed airline to make bank.

But, this is the exact situation to which I was referring. If this guy ever makes it to middle of the A320 captain list at XYZ domicile he'll never get summer vacation, Christmas off and will likely be on red-eyes most trips. However, at a legacy he could probably retire a senior narrow body captain and avoid the crap as he gets older.
Good luck to all.

Yes he'll NEVER.....because things will always be the same. That's the airline business. Things start one way, and usually they're set in stone forever.
