Initial Training
I'm headed to training on 5 July and looking forward to it! Any advice for a new 121 guy? Anything specific I need to do to be more prepared prior to arriving at the lodge? Thanks in advance.

Won't hurt to get familiar with 117, don't memorize it (we have quick reference for that) but get the idea of how it works. That seemed like the thing we were helping the non 121s with in indoc, lots of us were regional so knowing it word for word was essential in those days..Learn the lights and switches guide for your airframe....that's about it, training here is fairly simple but it does work as it's supposed to.

Just show up with a good attitude and do what they tell you.
Bring your E6B for flight planning and don't forget to have your Tk421 forms filled out in triplicate for pay and benefits. Everyone messes that up.

(But seriously, no there's nothing you really need to do beforehand)

I was new to 121 as well. . .came from the military. I had gone through three type ratings with the military at Flight Safety and CAE, which I am assuming you've done at least once. This is not Flight Safety training. Have your stuff together for each sim event as there really isn't a lot of time given to 'teaching'. . . it is much more 'evaluating' whether you are ready for the next event. Other than that, just do as they say, cooperate, don't stand out. . .and you'll do just fine.

A little thread drift...but still geared towards a new-hire JetBlue pilot. I think I heard that the E190 has a small cubby hole that fits a luggageworks 22 inch bag. Is that where most guys put their bag? Or do they buy something bigger than the 22-inch bag and put it in the overhead? Does the Airbus flight deck fit any size?
