OH NO!! If AA pilots are saying mean things about Jetblue on their private forums and <snicker> Facebook groups <snicker>, then this is a real game-changer.

A glorified regional? What region? What CPA/FFD structure is JB working under? Oh wait...it’s a simple codeshare to/from NYC/BOS. Less of a partnership than Alaska’s deal. And again, our 190 rate is higher than AA’s. Our bus rate is a wash. The only ones laughing at JB either 1) don’t understand the agreement 2) don’t understand that AA was failing and unable to compete in NYC and shrinking a lot anyway 3) are dense or 4) trying to find someone to lash out at due to their own airline’s struggles.

I believe the problem is that Unionized pilots are going out of their way to further degrade scope. Flying an Airbus as a regional feed is a slippery slope...especially when JB pays less than AA. This will eliminate some of the highest paying jobs in the industry for a lower B-Scale airbus regional feed.

It's the only reasonable explanation why a codeshare deal with less breadth and depth than the long-standing Alaska codeshare is evoking such an emotional response from a bunch of outsourced regional guys.

2) it racks and stacks above legacies in some areas (like scope) and is only a few bucks an hour under in pay rates (higher 190 rate than everyone else though, and way higher than outsourced 175s that pay $0/hr to legacy pilots). But overall it’s way better than AS/HA/F9/NK/G4...throw in scope (no outsourced RJs) and I’ll take mine over any legacy’s. It’s right in line with where we rack and stacked revenue/size wise, but with scope at the top of the industry (besides SWA).
3) Look how long it took SWA (and others) to get a decent contract. I’d say at our 18 year mark when we got our first CBA, both the company and our CBA are pretty decent for being as young as we are with some historical context.
4) If you guys vote in your AIP’d concessions, how will things look when comparing CBAs/furlough mitigation LOAs? I’m sure SK will do you guys well. But I’ll keep my CBA/furlough mitigation over yours, thanks.
5) Who knows how CBAs will look 1-3-5 years from now. Maybe we will be pattern bargaining off of legacy concessionary bankruptcy contracts for our second CBA. Maybe I’ll still be glad I never went to a legacy. Or maybe I’ll be dealing with an unwanted SLI and part of a legacy. A whole lot of possibilities that none of us really have any say in.
Good luck to you all.

I'm sure there's some absolutely brilliant minds on there if they're believing the same crap you're spewing.
I flew AA painted airplanes with AA procedures in and out of AA hubs for years while making $20/hr and being used and abused. I also flew their baby 'main line' airplane on routes that should have been 737s, but the company decided they'd rather cut costs and use cheap labor. Where was your whining and complaining then?
If you think that codesharing with a company that pays it's pilots almost equal rates as legacy airline and a stronger scope clause is the same as a regional partner, then I don't know what to tell you. Sorry for what's happening to you guys at the moment, I don't want to see any pilots on the streets, but the idea that jetblue is 'taking lift' from AA as a regional partner and affecting YOUR scope is completely false.

It seems like some posters are confused about what a codeshare agreement is. We’re not talking about a CPA or FFD like in regional world. With a codeshare the airline that sells the ticket only keeps a few cents per dollar. The operating carrier keeps the vast majority of the revenue that’s generated. There’s a market-based reason airlines would operate the flight themselves if they could, rather than codeshare for a few pennies. In the past, legacies have codeshared with each other.
