Yeah I think the constant barrage of emails to make sure you had a displacement bid in scared people into entering displacement bids for things they’d be willing to accept, not for what they want. The message could have been stated VERY differently.

Broken record but always always always bid for what you want, and for nothing that you don’t want. Having a single bid sheet would help.

So we are going for simple because pilots won’t take an hour or two to learn a bid system that controls their entire lives?

The system in place allows more pilots to get to their desired location even during a time like this if they just pay attention and invest in their career a little bit.

I did say weeks ago we should have practice run half way through the bid like United does, just show people can identify honest mistakes.

Not knowing how the system works though, no excuses.

You'd think the definition of "voluntary" would be understood by adults.

God help them when it comes time for the voluntary furlough bid.

No, going for simple because this level of complexity isn't necessary for what we are trying to accomplish here. I've written inventory control systems that were simpler than the logic that I think is involved here.

It’s really not complicated at all and it’s more or less the system used by every other major airline but I guess I shouldn’t expect too much out of this pilot group.

I don’t feel bad at all for people who screwed up this bid. It wasn’t hard on what to do.

They were pretty clear to fill out the entire involuntary displacement bid because no one knew what was going to happen in such a large reshuffle. If you left it blank thinking you were safe, and where you wanted to be, and were then displaced you'd be hosed.

You shouldn’t expect too much with “Riddle” in the screen name.
