LGB is the base. LAX is the co-terminal. LGB is closing and LAX is becoming the base. So they are treating it as a base closure per the CBA and running a displacement bid over to LAX.

if they don’t displace any 190 cpts I will be shocked. I’ll take it but shocked.

No displacements in the annual bid. No vacancies either. Base swaps only. Supplemental bids will take care of LAX, A220, Europe, etc.

do you mean it’s against the contract to do displacements in the annual bid?

They can do displacements in the annual bid, at least the way I read 24.P. Things like 24.P.7 in the displacement section refer to multiple effective dates, consistent with an annual bid.

I think they just aren’t doing it all right now because they want to get LAX done first, then use a wait and see approach until more is known (especially with regards to Europe timing, but all traffic in general). Apparently there could be some 220 delays too, and I bet they wanna see what the 190 future looks like (and I think it might still be premature) before they plan any big moves that span all of 2021 when they can just do a supplemental when they figure out how many 190 seats to cut and how many 220/321LR seats to add.

My guess is there will be a 220 bid this fall and an LR bid early next year, with a decent drawdown of 190 seats throughout 2021...or at least throughout the 2nd half of 2021. Just my random guess though. The publicly stated plan is 1 for 1 still with the 220. The timing for that is 8 220s, so a 120 or so reduction in 190 pilots by year’s end. However, I’d expect the category to shrink a little more than that at this point, at least on the captain side.

ok that is the way I thought it worked, just didn’t know if it was your opinion or contractual and I missed it.
