I think alot of AA pilots are drawing an unnecessary conclusion based off the poor timing of the WARN notices and this announcement. I dont think this agreement is leading to the announcements at all. If anything, I think itll mean less RJs flying around the NE which is probably good news for everyone.
I also think Jetblue pilots spiking the football, should also consider that this could really stunt the growth of any trans-atlantic flight plans. I know they are still stating that London is a go, but it wouldnt take much to delay that again. And even if London does happen, expanding the network to other cities makes less sense now in this environment and with this agreement. If you felt "330s are coming soon", they may have just gotten here just painted in AA colors and in the shape of a 777.
Lets all get along, and hope and fight to keep this from becoming anything more than a codeshare. NO MERGER!

I think theres a good change there will be furloughs. But I dont think it has anything to do with Jetblue or domestic flying. Furloughs will come from the bottom of course, but are caused by a lack of Intl widebody flying in the coming years. I would expect union and company will be coming together soon to come to agreement to keep as many AA pilots on property soon.

I want to clarify that 99.9999% of the perceived spiking of the ball relates to the no-furlough vs the minor changes that were given for it.
I honestly don't believe the spiking of the ball has much to do with the codeshare, other than the general feeling that this helps JB+ALK+AA against Delta's aggression.

Almost all, if not all, JB pilots look at the codeshare as something we gave up as a 1 time exception (call it a concession) to secure something more important. No one looks at this as "take that American". As was said, we are all pilots in the same profession and hope that no one is left on the street just as no one gets left behind when non-reving. I think a lot of us (regardless of airline) feels this way. Its just sad that a few wants to feed their ego.
